Greetings from the Iowa-Nebraska Association of
Congregational Christian Churches!
Last fall the Iowa-Nebraska Association made the
decision to pursue restructuring a Prayer Room to cover the 2005
Annual Meeting in Kansas City. After gaining support and
permission from both Moderator Hannah Wing Hall and the
Executive Committee, we are taking the initiative to organize
and staff an open Prayer Room. To see this endeavor through,
your support is vital! We ask all who plan to attend the Annual
Meeting to prayerfully consider giving an hour to serve as host
in the Prayer Room.
Express Purposes of the Prayer Room:
-
To seek God’s will and guidance for the NA
-
To pray for the officers, divisions,
delegates, attendees and presenters during the meeting
-
To intercede during the plenary sessions and
business meetings
-
To join in prayer with any attendee who
brings a specific prayer request(s)
-
To provide a Prayer Focus Wall of NA
programs, individual churches and world situations for
general/specific prayer support
Role of a Prayer Room Host:
-
Simply be present in the room (on time and
during the entire hour!)
-
Welcome each person who comes
-
Direct persons to the Prayer Focus Wall,
daily schedule of prayer topics, communion
-
Pray with/for specific prayer requests from
individuals
-
Maintain the prayerful atmosphere of the
room
To Serve as a Prayer Room Host:
-
Choose one hour during the meeting that you
will commit to host the prayer room
(Suggestion: Non-delegates, please consider times during
business sessions when votes will be taken.)
-
Email or call Kathy Sell, Director of Church
Services, at
ksell@naccc.org, or 1.800.262.1620, ext 21,
with the hour you wish to serve as host
-
Join in prayer NOW for the Annual Meeting,
all participants and the prayer room
-
Come to the prayer room in Kansas City and
join your prayers to the glory of God!
After all, Jesus sets the standard:
“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about
anything that they may ask,
it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.
For where two or three have gathered together in My name,
I am there in their midst.”
Matthew 18:19-20, NASB
Thank you for prayerfully considering this
information.
May God bless your day!
