The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches has many Commissions, Committees, Societies, and Teams. They are formed to help the Association fulfill specific needs. The missions of the various commissions, committees, societies and teams are listed below.
The Commission on Youth Ministries (CYM)
It is the purpose of the Commission on Youth Ministries to enhance spiritual growth in youth and young adults and to support member churches in providing opportunities for worship, fellowship, service, and leadership development. The Commission plans and implements an annual conference for youth and young adults through the National Association of Pilgrim Fellowship (NAPF for high school age) and the Heritage of Pilgrim Endeavor (HOPE for young adults) as well as leadership development opportunities for people involved in youth ministry.
The World Christian Relations Commission (WCRC)
The mission of the World Christian Relations Commission is to encourage our NACCC Churches in their interfaith and ecumenical outreach.
The Communication Services Commission (CSC)
The Communication Services Committee’s mission is to encourage thoughtful communication in the NACCC and among our member Churches.
The Executive Committee (EC)
The mission of the Executive Committee is to act as the Association between Annual Meetings and Conferences.
The Financial Services Committee (FSC)
Financial Service’s mission is to help our association and member churches with financial challenges and opportunities.
The Nominating Committee
The nominating committee’s mission is to nominate our national leadership team of 80 laity and clergy are from over 40 member churches and dozens of states.
The Institute for Congregational Studies (ICS)
This is a membership institute which has emerged as a national ”think tank” for the NACCC.
The Congregational Society of Classical Retreat Guides (CSCRG)
A Society is dedicated to promoting the spiritual life through prayer.
The Washington Gladden Society (WGS)
The mission of the Gladden Society is to raise the moral and ethical issues of our time, inform the members and the churches within our Association about those issues and strategies that individuals and churches have taken to address them.
The Annual Meeting and Conference Planning Team
This team plans the Annual Meetings and Conferences for the NACCC
The Wisconsin Congregational Theological Society
The Society meets during the academic year at the Founders Library at the NACCC’s office in Oak Creek, Wisconsin under the auspices of the NACCC.
The Strategic Planning Team
This team was appointed by the Executive Committee in 2007 to review and make recommendations regarding the Association’s entire scope of services and the structures used to provide those services.
Task Teams
From time to time task teams are created as a way to bring new and gifted people together to help the Association with strategic planning, as well as review programs, ideas, and resources for our member congregations. These teams are time and subject driven. As these teams develop we will post them here.
