Conflict Management
DFM suggests two alternatives to situations of conflict in churches – the Vicinage Council and the use of consultants.
The time-tested Vicinage Council has been part of our Congregational Christian tradition for years. Depending on the strength of the fellowship of NACCC Churches in the area of the Church in conflict, this mechanism can be a very powerful and meaningful experience of counsel from sister Churches.
Churches and clergy also have available to them trained consultants through the NACCC. These individuals are gifted in both mediation and conflict management. DFM regularly funds the training of individuals to help Churches and clergy through tough times, so that situations can be reconciled and healing can take place.
