Application Information

General Requirements.   Every student seeking admission to the Lay Ministry Training Program must meet certain requirements to gain entrance and to satisfactorily graduate from the program.  A student must be a member in good standing of an NACCC member church.   He or she must have the endorsement of the Diaconate (or equivalent body) and of the acting Senior Minister.

Entrance Requirements.   Along with an application form, the following must be submitted:

  •        Proof of membership in an NACCC church
  •        Letter of recommendation   and sponsorship from the church of which you are a member
  •        Statement of support from your pastor
  •        Reference letters
  •        A signed consent for a background check

Upon submission of the required application and information, an interview with the Dean will be scheduled.  The Dean may waive existing requirements or make additional requirements when accepting students.

Program Requirements.   Every student admitted to the program is required to hold membership in an NACCC member church.   No grades will be issued for work that is accomplished.   The work of the student will be considered to be satisfactorily completed when the mentor and the student agree that the course knowledge and skill levels have been completed to the best of the student's ability.   As a final step, the student is required to write a summary paper including a Statement of Faith and describing how the course material has been incorporated into his or her life and ministry.
