A NEW SCHOOL BUS
FOR
CHRIST TO THE VILLAGES, NIGERIA
The Missionary Society has an important mission
project that would be wonderful for Sunday Schools, youth groups, or
mission-minded congregations.
Rev. Solomon and Margaret Oladele are the
directors of the Christ to the Villages Mission in Nigeria. This
mission has been supported by the Missionary Society and many NACCC
churches for about nine years. Christ to the Villages Mission
operates schools in two towns, the Alpha Primary School and Omega
High School located in Shao and the Alpha Elementary School in Oloru.
It is necessary to drive more than sixty miles each day to bring
over 200 students from surrounding villages to attend these schools.
Last December, the school’s bus caught fire and was destroyed. A
very unsafe and a much too small van has been in use since.
During the NACCC Annual Meeting in Spokane, the
need for a new school bus for Christ to the Villages was brought to
the Missionary Society. Due to the many requests from our NACCC
missions, The Missionary Society realized that they did not have
enough money to completely fund this school bus project. The cost
of a used bus in good working condition is approximately $18,000.
Here’s where you can help! Churches and Sunday
Schools are getting back into full swing - this would be the perfect
time to begin a campaign to raise money for the school bus. Sunday
school classes and youth groups or congregations could display a
school bus bank for donations. Alternatively, Sunday School children
or youth could make a bank of their own to keep at home to collect
spare change.
Your support for this project would be greatly appreciated by
December 31st.
