Hosanna Industries
Rochester, PA 15074
Hosanna Industries was founded in 1990 in response to cries for help that were not being heard or answered. As an Associate Pastor serving the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Rev. Donn Ed recognized that there were many impoverished families who were in desperate need of home repair, lacked the resources to meet their needs and had no where to turn for help.
In response to these silent cries, Hosanna Industries was established as a faith-rooted non-profit organization that performs home construction and repair for low-income persons living in deteriorating housing, provides vocational training for unskilled workers primarily in construction trades, gives assistance in the development and startup of small businesses by persons who lack the economic ability and expertise to do so without assistance, creates job opportunities for unemployed persons, and mobilizes relief workers to areas of disaster and poverty. Since 1990, Hosanna Industries has hosted over 130,000 volunteers as we have completed more than 2000 new homes or home repair projects for low and very low income households.
We believe every family should live in dignity, every roof should be tight, and every furnace should burn safely; we believe no one should go to sleep cold or hungry or scared; we believe every child should have a yard and a kitchen and a bed. If this happens, then we’ll put our hammers down and demonstrate our faith in some other way. Until then, the green trucks are heading down the road to the next project.
