TEAM CONSIDERS WAYS TO ENCOURAGE NEW ATTENDEES AT AM

An appointed team of enthusiastic leaders is considering suggestions from a variety of sources as to how we might encourage more attendees at the Annual Meetings. The team, composed of Rev. Stuart Merkel, Claudia Kniefel, Rev. Wendy Van Tassel, and Dr. Dewey Gierke hopes to have some suggestions for the Executive Committee by the June Meeting. If you have suggestions for the team please contact individuals within it, or Carrie Dahm, the host of their on-line worksite.

  INTERNATIONAL
CONGREGATIONAL JOURNAL

Congregationalism is alive and well all around the world, and the proof is the International Congregational Journal(ICJ).

The International Congregational Fellowship Theological Commission (ICFTC), with The Congregational Press of the NACCC, announces the fourth volume of the International Congregational Journal. The issue offers articles dealing with the Covenant and the Congregational theology of the church. The February issue will deal with aspects of worship. The ICJ reflects the theology, scholarship, liturgy, spirituality and history of Congregationalism. Its goal is to provide a forum for institutions, fellowships and individuals who wish to study, continue and to expand the fruits of this “Way” of being and doing church.

A one-year subscription to the ICJ is $30 for individuals or for churches. It is an ideal addition to your church library or as a gift for your minister. To subscribe or for inquiries or questions, please contact the Coordinating Secretary:

  DO YOU OUTLINE STITCH?

Not a term we generally use, but we have been gifted the hospitality tablecloth of Donna Alexander who, for years, had Congregational guests in her and John’s home sign their name to a tablecloth. Donna would then “outline stitch” each name to give it permanency. At the recent Christmas Open house at the NA office, the staff invited members of area Churches to sign it. With several new names, we need a volunteer who would be willing to stitch the names to the tablecloth.

A Big Thank You!

Church Services Commission sends its thanks to all churches and individuals who purchased a 2005 Advent Devotional. Nearly 4600 booklets were sold! Thank you!
