"Transforming in Christ . . . Uniting in Faith"

by Rev. Steven A. Peay, Ph.D.
Program Committee

"Transforming in Christ . . . Uniting in Faith" provides the theme and the goal for the 2001 Annual Meeting. Worship, as a response to God's gracious activity, will play a key role in the course of the meeting. We will gather daily for worship, each service drawing us together to praise God for our Way and our fellowship.

Sunday we will join with the people of Plymouth Church, Lansing for morning worship, which will include the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Monday's worship will be a celebration of Mission. During that time we will offer praise for the work of our fellowship through the Missionary Society and Congregational Church Development. Our final service of worship together, Tuesday, will be a celebration of service. In that service we will thank God for the forty years of ministerial training offered by the Congregational Foundation For Theological Studies and for the ongoing work of the Division for Ministry. The celebration of service will also involve a special commissioning of our graduating CFTS fellows.

Since the emphasis of this annual meeting is "hands-on," you will receive a mini-worship book and hymnal. It is our hope that the times of prayer and praise, the varieties of worship and music will all serve to offer true worship and build-up all attending. We look forward to worshipping with you this coming June in Lansing!
