Look for a sample copy of the 2003 Lent Devotional, Our Shelter from the Stormy Blast, and Our Eternal Home that will be mailed to your church during the next few weeks _ and remember to order early!

NEED A FEW GOOD SONGS FOR YOUR CHOIR?

Church Services can extend your choral library !!!

Every director is faced, at some time, with a dilemma. What anthem or special music will fit with the theme of the service that hasn't been done recently? Can I afford to purchase a new anthem, knowing the extremely high cost of the new music? We need special music for the Easter or Christmas program which will touch the right chord, music which will be needed only once. What is available? One obvious solution would be to obtain a piece and copy it, knowing that act is illegal. I may not get caught, but what about my conscience and the breach of honesty I present?

The MUSIC EXCHANGE PROGRAM presented at the 2002 NACCC convention in Spokane is one sure way to augment the music available to a choir director. The simple procedure of listing the music in your own library (using the format available through Ruth Mahnke at the NA Office) and sending the lists to her will start the process. You will receive the music lists from the other churches participating in the program and can select new anthems to use without the expenditure. The only cost will be the UPS charges to forward and return the music after use.

Music of all levels will be available, from The Rutter Gloria and The Mozart Requiem, to simple compositions for youth as The Good, Good Book by Joan Hines. Augmenting your library will stimulate your choir, present new music to the congregation, and assist your sister churches. Please contact me at ED-GayMillar@juno.com or Ruth Mahnke at the NA office for further details.
