Nancy McRae (FCC, Seattle)
spends the Summer as an international volunteer working with
children - Monseney (Ireland's West Coast) camp for refugees
seeking asylum and Ell, Holland where volunteers worked on a farm
which houses foster children.
FCC, Ann Arbor,
has a theological book club, reading and discussing such books as
Carter Heyward's "Saving Jesus From Those Who Are
Right," Philipo Yancey's "Soul Survivor," and
Frederick Beuchner's "The Sacred Journey."
Kathy Howell, Moderator of
First CC, Royal Oak chairs a committee
looking into the feasibility and advisability of creating a
memorial garden where the ashes of loved ones can be scattered or
deposited in an urn. If your Church has such a garden, please

Mt. Hope, Livonia
suggests a new resident hospitality gift. Get new resident
addresses from several sources both on-line and from the your town
hall or newspaper. Instead of sending them just a letter welcoming
them to the community, Mt. Hope sends them a diskette called the
"mortgage manager," giving them helpful hints for paying off their
mortgage in record time, savings thousands of dollars! The labels
on these disks are made by the Church. Even the program is free.

just finished a six week course on our heritage. Some of the
titles of the sessions? Polity not policy, Did Michener gives us
bad press?, Does it matter what we believe? etc., used as teasers
for more serious discussions.
