NEW HAMPSHIRE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES PILOT NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP AD CAMPAIGN

 page 5

Five New Hampshire Congregational Churches have been selected by the NACCC to pilot a national membership print advertising campaign. A series of four print ads has been created that showcases “The Congregational Way” to help community members better understand the church’s beliefs and practices. The campaign’s theme is “Come Learn and Grow in Faith Together.” The campaign was kicked off the week of November 8 and will run through December 13 to coincide with the Advent Season.

“New Hampshire was an ideal place for us to start, since Congregationalism really started out east with the colonists,” said Tom Richard, Executive Secretary for the NACCC. “We’re been around for a long time, but many people still don’t understand what we’re all about. We’re hoping to spread our message of freedom in faith and the importance of every person’s direct relationship with God.”

Participating churches include Campton (Campton), Immanuel Community (Concord), Gilmanton Community (Gilmanton), First (Pittsfield), and Barnstead Parade Community (S. Barnstead). Community newspapers will run the ad series, and churches will send out direct-mail postcards, as well as host membership appreciation events in conjunction with the ad campaign.

The success of the campaign in New Hampshire will be used as a benchmark for future campaigns in metro areas across the nation. Campaigns will be run during Advent and Lenten seasons.

“Rather than investing in a single national ad campaign, we wanted to target areas most in need of our support,” said Richard. “We hope small and more focused campaigns will add up over time to achieve greater impact overall.”
