HOLIDAY MISSION GIVING

THE PAN AMERICAN INSTITUTE -- TIJUANA, MEXICO
Thanks to the generosity of mission donors, the Pan American Institute has distributed Christmas baskets to families for 29 consecutive years. The average student at the Pan American Institute comes from a family of four whose income is just $50 per week. Each year at Christmas, food gift baskets are distributed to the student's families. Each basket has a cost of $35 and contains the following items:

Pinto beans - rice - wheat flour - bread - powdered milk - coffee - sugar - cookies - gelatin - pastas - tomato sauce - frozen chicken - canned tuna and vegetables - margarine - cereal - oatmeal - tortillas cooking oil - soap - shampoo - toilet paper and toothbrushes and paste.

Please forward cash donations to the Missionary Society at the NA office designated "PAI Christmas Giving." Hard goods should be sent to: The Pan American Institute, PO Box 433872, San Ysidro, CA 92143. Please do not send via UPS _ they will not deliver to a US Post Office box.

MAINE SEA COAST MISSION -- BAR HARBOR, MAINE
The Maine Sea Coast Missionary Society, located in Bar Harbor, provides pastoral care and outreach ministries to persons living in the rugged coastal and island villages of Maine. A ship named the Sunbeam pays regular visits to the island communities of Monhegan, Matinicus, Isle au Haut, Frenchboro, and the Great Cranberry Isles.

The Mission's Christmas Program touches more than 3,000 children, nursing home residents, shut-ins, and students of Headstart Programs. Caps, mittens, scarves, and socks arrive throughout the year from knitters across the country. The program provides a wrapped gift, a tide calendar, and occasionally a financial donation to those supported by the Mission.

Financial donations should be forwarded through the Missionary Society _ designated to the Maine Sea Coast Mission - Christmas. Knitted items may be sent to the mission at: The Maine Sea Coast Mission, 127 West Street, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609.

SEAFARER'S FRIEND -- BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Seafarer's Friend, a member of the North American Maritime Ministries Association, welcomes and assists seafarer's aboard commercial vessels in New England. Chaplains and volunteers provide ditty bags filled with small gifts, personal items, candy, a pair of mittens, a cap, and a Christmas greeting.

THE MORGAN SCOTT PROJECT -- DEER LODGE, TENNESSEE

The Morgan Scott Project ministers to the poor, elderly, and disabled residents of eastern Tennessee. The Mission's Christmas Program served 918 children and 339 families during the Christmas season of 1999. Morgan Scott provides one large toy, one small toy, and an article of clothing to a child in need. The cost is approximately $12 per child. Financial support of this project would be greatly appreciated and may be sent through The Missionary Society designated for the Morgan Scott Christmas Program.

BREAD OF LIFE CHRISTIAN MISSION -- PLANT CITY, FLORIDA
Julio and Elba Santana, directors of the Bread of Life Mission, request assistance with the Adopt A Child For Christmas Program. A $15 donation will provide sponsorship for one child. Preference may be given to a boy or a girl if you wish. Last year gifts were distributed to 475 children. Each child received a new toy and a shoe box filled with candy and toiletries. Send donations through the Missionary Society for Bread of Life Christmas giving.
