| PLANS UNDERWAY FOR EXCITING
YOUTH CONFERENCES |
The Youth are hard at work developing their NAPF and HOPE
Conferences for next June at Chapman University in Orange
County, CA. The youth conferences coincide with the NA Annual
Meeting in Costa Mesa, CA. There will be an intergenerational
event involving both Conferences and the Annual Meeting.
The HOPE Conference has a theme of “Soak In the Son” and will
focus on the outrageousness of Jesus’ life and ministry. Rev.
Alice Murphy will be their speaker.
The NAPF Conference will have Lisa and Tony Rambo as their
speakers with a theme of “Breathe” focusing on Psalm 150.
The youth of the local churches will hopefully be planning to
raise the funds to send their youth to the conferences. Other
youth groups have raised money with church suppers (ziti
anyone?); car washes; cookie swaps (youth and interested adults
bake holiday cookies and the youth sell containers at coffee
hour that parishioners fill with cookies); having parishioners
fill empty film canisters with quarters; dress down Sunday in
church (parishioners make a contribution to wear jeans to
church); tithing their earnings from chores for neighbors…
Youth who have attended these conferences report developing life
long friendships as well as the deepening of their spiritual
lives. What better way for a youth to meet a special friend
called Messiah?

IS YOUR YOUTH LEADER GOING TO YLR?
What is YLR? Why should my youth leader go to YLR?? What is in
it for me if my youth leader goes to YLR? Let’s see if we can
get some answers to help convince your youth leader to come to
YLR.
YLR means Youth Leaders Retreat. If your PF/HOPE program needs
some pizzazz, new ideas or your leader needs some encouragement
from fellow Christians, YLR is for them. But, on the other hand,
if you have a great youth program, with lots of pizzazz, you
could share with others. You are needed too!
YLR is filled with fun, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement.
If your youth leader’s excitement grows, in turn so does your
PF/ HOPE program. IT sounds like a win-win situation to me.
What’s stopping you from asking your leader if they are going to
YLR?
The dates for YLR are March 3-5, 2006 with an optional
additional night on the 2nd of March at the Wonderland Camp in
Camp Lake, Wisconsin (Close to Kenosha). Your youth leaders can
read all about it on the NACCC website: www.naccc.org. It is
listed on the Highlights area of the home page which is linked
to the YLR page. Your youth leaders can also print the
registration form and send it to Karen Frazzell at the NACCC
