Dear Friends,
As I write this, we are preparing for our October leadership meetings. We're doing something different this year.
My original suggestion was that we have these meetings in one of our Churches somewhere other than
 Milwaukee,
in a geographically feasible place. Dr. Olsen's idea was that we should plan to visit Churches
in the area during the weekend. Rev. Jackson's thought was we actually might save
transportation costs in the process.
Our Meeting Coordinator, Carrie Dahm, with the help of Revs. Joy, Hunt, Hood,
Schafer, and Miller, have put together transportation, meeting spaces, meals, and visits, to this end
- members of the leadership team will be present in our Churches in the greater Detroit area.
It is a huge effort, for which I thank all the clergy and members of these Churches.
But, isn't the "business" of the NA connecting? And isn't one of the major responsibilities of local Churches
relating to other sister Churches? It is certainly our intent--through the increased number of visits to Churches and
Associations, through phone calls and notes to Churches, and through efforts to create new partnerships with area and
state associations--to do all we can to meaningfully connect with you, and invite you to connect with each
other. Building up the body of Christ is the goal.
