LEADERSHIP TEAM WORK SITES |
|
Each
of our Divisions, Commissions and planning teams has a password protected
work site on our www.nachurch.org website. These worksites are
available to any leadership group with the NA. If your team needs a place to
easily exchange documents, store information for distribution, hold bulletin
board style discussions or maintain contact and calendar information, a
password protected worksite can be created for you. Contact the NA office
and we can discuss the particulars.

For current leadership team users, here are a few reminders:
1) To date, all known difficulties in using these
sites have been resolved by upgrading your browser to Microsoft’s
Internet Explorer 6.0 (IE 6.0). It’s a free download at
www.microsoft.com/ie . For Netscape
users, it is possible to use two different browsers on one machine at
the same time. The NA worksites have full functionally only with IE 6.0.
AOL uses a modified version of Netscape. Some of or AOL users have used
the worksites without difficulty. We recommend that users access the
internet with whatever browser your ISP provides. Once online, open up
IE 6.0 and navigate to the worksites.
2) Remember that you do not have to ‘upload’ or
‘download’ documents. All documents on the worksites are posted in html
(web browser) format. To view and print a document; enter the worksite
with your user name and password, click on "Documents" at the top of the
page, click on the file folder which contains your document and click on
the document’s name and it will appear in your IE 6.0 browser
window as a readable, printable document. The ‘New Document,’ ‘Upload
Document,’ and ‘Edit’ icons have functions which are not yet available
to most of our users. Use of these functions requires additional
‘Permissions.’ As we all learn how to use these sites, additional
permissions will be granted.
3) A full description of all the site’s features
and functions is available on line at
www.nachurch.org , look for the ‘Quick Launch’ column on the
left hand side of your browser and click on ‘Information Site
Instructions,’ then click on the document’s name, ‘Work Site
Instructions’. This is a large document, as it contains numerous
graphics. If your connection speed is slow, it may take a little time to
appear. It is suggested that you print these instructions for future
reference. At the end of this document you will find information on how
to purchase Microsoft’s Office XP Standard at a not-for-profit price of
fifty-six dollars per user (minimum five users) plus twenty dollars for
the software media (CD). Using Word, especially Word XP opens up amazing
possibilities in document collaboration and the exchange and correction
of documents and information.
4) Members of each worksite are ‘subscribed’ to
each document folder. This means that you will receive an email
notification when a change has been made to any of the contents of each
folder. Users may also subscribe to individual documents (instructions
in the on-line manual) as well as unsubscribe from a document or folder.
To unsubscribe, click on the word ‘unsubscribe’ contained in the email
notification.
The software for these sites was created with an organization like the NA
in mind. They will be a great aid to us even as we all learn how to use
them. If you have difficulty with the sites, want printed instructions
mailed to you or would like to have a worksite started for your team, call
the office at 1.800.262.1620.
