by Donald P. Olsen, DMin. Dean, CFTS

At the Providence Annual Meeting in June, the CFTS board admitted five new students to the CFTS program. Our new students are representative of the diversity in our Association churches. Some come to ministry as a second-career and others almost directly from undergraduate school. I would like to introduce them to you.

Lisa attended Michigan State University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science degree and Magna Cum Laude, with a Masters degree in Speech Pathology. She has been working at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Lisa, and her husband Rob, have two children, Alex and Lindsay. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys outdoor activities, making theatrical sets, props and costumes, and scrap-booking.

Trudy Bradley is a member of Mt. Hope Congregational Church in Livonia, MI, and is attending Ecumenical Theological Seminary, Detroit, MI. Trudy is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree. She received a Master of Arts from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI. Trudy has taught elementary music and enjoys traveling, reading and learning.

Andrew recently graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, receiving Magna Cum Laude honors. He enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and camping.

Tony Rambo is a member of People's Congregational Church in Bayport, MN, and is attending Mennonite Brethren Bible Seminary in Fresno, CA. Tony is a graduate of Bethel College, Arden Hills, MN, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies. Juan Lee is a member of First Congregational Church in Detroit, MI, and is attending Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL. Juan is a recent graduate of Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Juan enjoys reading, music and writing.

When you have the opportunity, welcome them, encourage them, perhaps even mentor them as they follow the path of their call to be set-aside for service to the one who binds us all together.
