GREAT IDEAS!

  • At Radnor Park, England, Rev. John Butler regularly mans a bookstall for his parishioners. Other sister churches have announced that they are planning bookstores as part of their ministry to every age. Does your church have a bookstore?

  • FCC, Ann Arbor, is offering a class to children and parents entitled, "Come to the Table," explaining the celebration of communion and why the church welcomes its children to the table.

  • Rockland Cong'l, is starting a new program, "Monday Nights Out," including Adult Study, Children's Choir, and Health and Nutrition workshops.

  • FCC, Clear Lake, has picked up on an idea that is now duplicated in several of our churches - "Dinner for Eight," small groups of church members meet for dinner and get to know one another better.

  • FCC, Millinocket, a church garden planted over 60 years ago, was replanted by the grandson of the one of the original creators, Bobby Morrison. His grandson, Bryce, took on the reclaiming of the garden as an Eagle Scout project. They dedicated it after worship one Sunday and named it "The Morrison Garden."

  • FCC, Elkader, church member, Kristen Johnson, grew her hair long for the past couple years, in order to donate it to the "Locks of Love" program which makes hair pieces for those who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment.

  • FCC, Rochester, ended a very successful first annual Summer Concert Series for which they have business and non-profit sponsors.

  • FCC Yarmouthport, has an annual "80 and Over" luncheon.

  • Duluth Cong'l is a member of CHUM, Churches United In Mission, a program which joins Christians together to aid local needs. What a great ecumenical idea!

  • FCC, Portland, has a regular page entitled "Our Church in Ministry" where ushers, nursery volunteers, meetings, financial gifts, pledges, prayer requests, shut-ins are all listed. Great idea!
