MINISTERIAL DEVELOPMENT
by Phil Jackson

2001 Ministers' Convocation

Ministers, please keep the dates of April 23-26, 2001 open for the Ministers' Convocation. The theme will be "Peace with God _ Peace with Ourselves." The event will take place at the Center for Development in Ministry at Mundelein, Illinois, as it has for the past few years.

From Seminary to Church

CFTS provides special training for service in our National Association Churches. It helps train ministers for our churches by providing scholarships and grants, seminars that establish a foundation in Congregational history/polity, and creating opportunities for fellowship and a network of support which lasts a lifetime. Please consider donating generously to assure a continuation of this tradition.

CHURCH SERVICES COMMISSION

Student Activity: The Good Samaritan Story Ages: Preschool -3rd Grade

Supplies: Newsprint, Markers, Band Aids

This is s fun way to illustrate the story of the Good Samaritan. Read from the Bible or paraphrase the story to students. Then let the kids choose a partner. Spread the newsprint on the floor and have the students trace an outline of each other. Have them put a face, clothing, and Band Aids on the body outlines and have them talk about how they would help each other if they were the Good Samaritan. After the lesson is over, hang the outlines up on the walls of the classroom.
