Pastorates and Pulpits, the document which lists current pastoral openings, has been on
the NACCC website for about three years. It has undergone significant changes.
Additionally, the Minister's Information Form (MIF) and the Church Information Form (CIF) have
undergone a similar change. All three are now on line at a secure site and are database driven.
When a member church has a pastoral opening two forms are required to start the process.
First, the preliminary "Information on Church Open Position" form is filled out to start
publicizing the open position. Second, the longer CIF must completed. This may take one to
three months due to the "best practices" recommendation that an all member survey be taken before completing the form.
These forms may now be filled out on the internet and are immediately available on the Pastorates and Pulpits
web page. The church Moderator is automatically given permission to fill out all church forms and may grant the
same permissions to two other people. Basic information about the pastoral opening is made available to the public
while the full CIF is available only to clergy who have served an NA church and
have set up an account on the website. Non-NA Clergy may view the CIF
through a special registration process. When a minister is
looking for a church, he or she will logon to a personal account;
fill out the entire MIF online, attaching pictures, sermons, even
streaming video clips. The MIF may be edited at anytime.
When the seeking minister finds a church of interest, the MIF can
be made available to every member of the search committee with a
click of the mouse. The MIF file remains on a password
protected, secure server. Pastorates and Pulpits
may be viewed online by going to
www.naccc.org, click on the "Ministry" menu link and then
click on "Pastorates and Pulpits." Registration for web
access to your personal account may be found at
www.naccc.org. Click the
"Churches" menu link and then on the "Member Stats" link. If
your name and email address are already in the NA database your
account will have the appropriate permissions assigned and you may
access the necessary forms. If you need assistance you may
contact Sue Grey or Karen Frazzell at 1-800-262-1620.
LOOKING FOR INVESTMENT ADVICE?
The Congregational Investment Trust has been designed
to help member churches invest endowment, building, and other
funds. To date 32 churches have funds in the trust, managed
by Associated Trust in Milwaukee. For more information on
how your church can benefit from professional management of its
funds, please call the NACCC office at 1-800-262-1620.
TAKE AND READ FORUM UPDATE
The new forum "Take and Read" will change a bit in the
next several months. Although we have received emails and
phone calls saying what a great idea it is to read and discuss
books on-line, the pace is too fast (one book a month). The
new schedule is as follows: Unfettered Hope (John Carson
will provide notes), Sept/Oct: Beyond Belief (Arlin Larson
will provide notes) Nov/Dec; The Purpose of the Church (Don
Olsen will provide notes) Jan/Feb. We hope this will
encourage more to go online and join the discussion at
www.naccc.org/forums/takeandread.
