EXCITING PLANS FOR CALIFORNIA 2006!

Following the Memorial Service for our Beloved Harry Butman at Messiah Congregational Church, there was a gathering of people from the Cal-West Association and Host Committee for our 2006 Annual Meeting in Costa Mesa. I want to share some of the highlights:
  • From the opening reports to the first night’s entertainment (The 28-member band sound of the “All-stars”), we will keep the pace lively and engaging.
  • During the next three days, you will have opportunity for education, participation and fun.
  • We’ve made arrangements for you to enjoy the same low hotel rate ($102) for three days before and three days after the conference. (Parking has been reduced just for us - $5 a day!) making it possible for you to plan a family or personal vacation around the meeting.
  • Parking space will be available at a local Church for self-contained campers.
  • There’s a world of cultural events within minutes of the Hotel.
  • Some opportunities at discount rates will be provided by the host committee on a first-come, first-serve basis (boat tours, great shopping, strolling on the beach). You’ll hear more about this later.
  • We will close our time together with a special Hollywood Night. This will be our own “Oscar Night.”
  • Features: The Bible Lecture is William Panell, Professor of Preaching at Fuller School of
Theology. Dr. Steven Peay, Senior Minister at First Congregational Church, Wauwatosa, WI is our Congregational lecturer.
  • You can expect quality workshops and seminars which benefit you and your church’s ministry and programs.
  • The Costa Mesa Hilton is one of the finest locations that we have had in years. Everything will be conveniently located.

Mark your calendars – June 24-27

NEW PUBLISHERS OF THE NA AND LENT DEVOTIONAL

In an effort to help clear the work calendars of office staff, the publishing of the NANews and the Lent Devotional for 2006 will be outsourced next year. Beginning with the January issue of the NANEWS, Liesel Gruener will be the editor and publisher. She is not new to the News, as she already handles design and formatting. Please send any articles or advertisements to her at lgruener@wi.rr.com. Cheryl Stapleton has agreed to publish the upcoming Mayflower Devotion for Lent, 2006. Cheryl will be requesting submissions from the Southwest Inter-Mountain Association of Congregational Christian Churches and Ministers, and others. Her email address is cherylstapleton@charter.net. Cheryl holds a degree in the field of graphic design. Welcome to you both, Liesel and Cheryl!
