NEW CLERGY INTRODUCED TO OUR ASSOCIATION

The Boston Seminar is held at the Congregational Library in Boston, during the second half of August each year. It is an intensive week of lecture and discussion each morning and evening on the history of the Congregational Way. CFTS students are required to attend once during their seminary years. DFM (Division for Ministry) has been recommending that churches calling a new pastor from outside the NA, make attending the Boston Seminar part of the pastor’s call. Additionally, some NA clergy attend as a “refresher course” on Congregational history and polity. This year’s Boston Seminar was attended by ten men and women, three of whom are new clergy in the NA, one is exploring our Association for his church.

New clergy to our Association of Churches who attended the seminar are:

Pamela Jensen who is a graduate of Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary in St Paul, MN. Pamela was ordained at Colonial Church of Edina and is serving First Congregational Church in New Richland, MN.

Beth Faeth is a graduate of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Ordained in the UCC, Beth is now in her second year at People’s Congregational Church, Bayport, MN.

Carrie Kreps Wegenast graduated from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. Carrie is the Associate Minister to Youth and Families at First Congregational Church in Wauwatosa, WI.

Joshua Davis is a graduate of Gordon Conwell in South Hamilton, MA. Josh is exploring our Association for the UCC church he serves in West Suffield, CT.

I encourage our laity and especially our ministers to welcome these colleagues in ministry. Invite them to local gatherings, regional meetings, our Annual Meeting, and the Minister’s Convocation. It is by such fellowship that our Association of Churches will strengthen and grow!

Dean, CFTS
