Congregational Way. As Dean of the Congregational Foundation for
Theological Studies (CFTS), Dr. Olsen assists the division in
training and mentoring seminary students. In addition, he
supervises information services, including web site development,
web streaming, on-line forums, and on-line leadership work sites.
Dr. Olsen is a graduate of: Bethel College, Arden Hills, MN, BA
Philosophy and Theology; United Theological Seminary of the Twin
Cities, New Brighton, MN, M.Div.; and Chicago Theological Seminary,
Chicago, IL, D.Min. His thesis was entitled, “Networking Community:
A Study of the Internet and its Potential for Ministry.” Dr. Olsen
served Congregational Churches New York and Michigan before coming
to our Association's staff.
Don and his wife, Penny, reside in Waukegan, IL. Penny is the VP
of Marketing for MCS Imports in Highland Park, IL. They enjoy
sailing, gardening and reading, and working on the restoration of
their home. Don has four children.

Dr. Olsen became an Associate Executive Secretary in 1998. He
assists the Division of Ministry (DFM) in their work of providing
support and counsel for our Churches and clergy in the areas of
pastoral search, continuing education, lay ministry, churches in
