He works
with CCD to plant new churches, as well as helping our existing
churches grow and thrive. Rev. Carson's third area of responsibility
is the encouragement of church partnerships with state and regional
associations.
John
received his undergraduate (BA) degree from St. Olaf College,
majoring in psychology and religion; his graduate (M. Div.) degree
from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, and a
post-graduate (S. T. M.) degree from Yale Divinity School. Prior to
coming to the NA office, he served as member / chairman of the
Missionary Society, the Spiritual Resources Commission and CCD.
Ordained in 1982, he was active in many state and regional
associations serving NA churches in Michigan, Connecticut,
Washington and Illinois.
John and his
wife Susan reside in Franklin, WI. They have three children: Amanda,
a senior at St. Olaf College; Joshua, a senior at Franklin High
School; and Susannah, an eighth grade student at Forest Park Middle
School.
When not in
the office, John enjoys time with family and friends, traveling,
reading, music, biking and exercise.

Rev. Carson is the newest member
of our executive staff, arriving in August of 2003, to assume his
duties as Associate Executive Secretary for Missions, Church
Development, Church Services, and State and Regional Partnerships. He assists the
Missionary Society in tending their domestic and international
mission projects and encourages new models of mission work among our
churches. |
