OLADELE REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE
Rev. Solomon Oladele, director of the Christ to the Villages Mission, has notified The Missionary Society that Christian educators are needed for the Omega High School located in Shao, Nigeria.  Educators are needed in the following subject areas:
·
        Physics
·
        Chemistry
·
        Religion (Christian)
·
        Mathematics
·
        English Language
Please contact Ruth Mahnke at the NA office if you are interested in learning more about this need.

The Nigerian government has introduced new higher minimum wages that affect private schools.  This has placed a financial burden on all of the schools supported by the mission:  The Alpha Nursery and Primary Schools as well as the Omega High School.  Work continues on the building of the boy’s hostel and four classrooms (laboratories).

In recent months, Rev. Oladele has begun broadcasting Christian messages on Nigerian radio.  Funding for this ministry is obtained through mission donations.

Please remember this mission ministry prayerfully and financially.  Donations may be designated, “Christ to the Villages.”  Checks should be made payable to the NACCC.

NEWS FROM INDIAN TRAILS
Dr. Tom Gossett, director of the Indian Trails Mission, sends news that the health of his son, Richard, has been improving.  He has gained some weight and is feeling somewhat better.  Thanks to all for their prayerful support.

Indian Trails continues mission ministries in
the mountains of Oaxaca, under the direction of Rev. Juan Isedro and in Naco, Arizona/Mexico under the direction of Dorothy Thomas. The Apache Indian Church is looking foreword to building Sunday School rooms this summer with the assistance from a volunteer group from Pennsylvania.

Tom & Sharon Gossett send the following message:  “God bless you and we shall strive to be worthy of your prayers and support.”

Small Congregation?
  Challenging Neighborhood?
Reach Out & Make a Difference!

The First Congregational Church in Maywood, IL, is doing just that.  By combining the resources of a large centrally located building and small, but willing congregation, they have created a One-Stop-Shop for the needy in their area.  They work a clothing and food bank themselves while coordinating with community resources to bring many activities to their location.  Over the past few years, they have hosted literacy programs, AA meetings, and special dinners for group home folks among other things.  The congregation works with the local college, other churches, clubs, village government, local food merchants, and others to make this a vital mission for their neighborhood.  For further information contact Rev. Robert Salmons at the First Church: (709) 344-6150.

UPDATE FROM THE NACC, PHILIPPINES
During the late summer months, typhoons destroyed the parsonage of the Agape Bible Christian Church located at Caloocan City.

Pastor Jun Balunan and his family were forced to reside in the church building.  Thanks to donations received from the One Great Hour of Sharing Fund and designated gifts to the Missionary Society, work has been completed on a new parsonage for Pastor Jun and his family.  Rev. Ernanie Castillo, director of the NACC, informs us that donations also allowed for the purchase of household appliances that were needed by this family.  A dedication service is being planned for the new parsonage.

The NACC supports evangelism efforts in Zambales.  A bible institute in the area has 25 students.  An Aeta aborigine outreach mission is gaining headway.  The NACC has provided financial support that enabled local people to design and construct their own worship center.  The worship center is basically made-up of indigenous materials. Aeta believers are very interested in attending a Bible School for leadership and pastoral training which is scheduled to begin in the early months of 2001.

The building of the Congregational Church of Bulawen was delayed due to extreme weather conditions, however, construction has begun and several congregation members are volunteering their services to provide the labor for this project.

Currently, the mission is seeking funds to purchase a van to provide reliable transportation to its ministries in outlying areas.  Funds donated through the Missionary Society should be designated, “NACC Van.”

Thank you to the dedicated supporters of this worthy mission ministry.

ARGENTINE MISSION

The Asociacion Civil Cristiana Congregational under the direction of Pastor Teodoro Sticker serves the community through a ministry of evangelization and diakonia (social service).  Through evangelism, the mission intends to make the Gospel known to people in need introducing them to a new life in the Spirit.  By diakonia, the mission ministry wants to show God’s love and mercy through active involvement with the most urgent needs of impoverished persons.

The Argentine mission:
*Holds evangelistic campaigns
*Runs a medical clinic
*Teaches persons “self-aid” through a garden and farming project
*Offers job training
*Offers a Child Sponsorship Program          ($40 monthly)
*Supports local Congregational Churches

The Argentine Mission is seeking additional support for its garden and farming project.  Teaching self-sufficiency is the goal of the project.  Besides growing various fruits and vegetables, the project owns a variety of livestock (including sixteen swarms of bees).

Pastor Stricker would like to send his thanks to the generosity of  NA churches and individuals who have supported the mission in the past.  Recently the Argentine Mission was able to purchase a much-needed used tractor for the project.

"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.  You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
                                   Isaiah 58:11
