NEWS
FROM CMFE
The Christian Mission in the Far East has been affected by ongoing conflicts
between Philippine government troops and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front
(a Muslim extremist group).
Rev. Jaime Julian, mission director, reports that the
Edenton Mission College has served as one of the evacuation centers for
those who were affected by the on-going conflict in neighboring places
(Mindanao). Many families
sought shelter at the school. The
mission assisted with medical care, food, and pastoral care.
Mission personnel were grateful for the opportunity to serve these
poor and needy people. The
government has been forced to move the evacuation center due the start of
the fall term at the school that serves 1,300 students from the elementary
grades through college.
“Despite the trouble around us, we continue to lift
up the name of the Lord and the more He draws men unto Him.
To God be the Glory! Please continue to pray for the Christian
Mission in the Far East to rise and meet the challenges of these days”
Jaime Julian
BREAD
OF LIFE SERVES MANY
The Bread of Life Christian Mission located in Plant City, Florida was
founded in August of 1993. The
mission responds to the immediate needs of low-income families in the Plant
City and surrounding areas and has assisted over 2,000 families – mostly
in the migrant community.
Bread of Life strives
to help people become educated, productive citizens in the community.
Mission Director, Rev. Julio Santana believes that education holds
the key to a better future. To
accomplish this goal, numerous programs, with an emphasis on children, have
been developed.
Through all programs, the mission
offers families an avenue to become independent from Social Service
Programs and offers the hope of knowing Jesus Christ.

UPDATE FROM ARGENTINA
The Asociacion Civil Cristiana Congregational located in Argentina oversees
“God’s Garden Project.” This
community garden is a place where mission clients are taught to grow fruits
and vegetables. Teaching
self-sufficiency is the goal of the Garden Project.
This past year harvests included corn, pumpkins, sweet potatoes,
beans, onions, melons, and a variety of fruit.
Rev.
Teodoro Stricker sends the following message:
“We want to emphasize the major and fundamental
importance of the support we receive |
from you. It makes
us able to assist spiritually and materially to many people who come to us
with their needs.”
The
Argentine Mission requests support for God’s Garden Project.
The Mission must rebuild a portion of the groundskeeper’s home.
The project needs a used tractor and a plow to prepare the soil
for planting and fruitful harvests. Funds
designated for a grinding machine used to prepare feed for dairy cattle
would be greatly appreciated.
PAN
AMERICA BEGINS NEW SCHOOL YEAR
The Pan American Institute located in Tijuana, Mexico began the 2000 –
2001 school year with 30 new students.
There are 14 students attending PAI for their third year of studies,
21 students in their second year, and 30 students in their first year for a
total of 65 students.
Because
recent graduates (June 2000) have computer training, they are able to work
part-time to pay for further studies. One
of the successful stories is Oralia Reynoso.
She is 15 years old and works four hours a day for an investigation
services company. Oralia is
able to earn more in four hours than other employees earn in an eight-hour
day because of the computer training she received at PAI.
Oralia also attends a preparatory school everyday and is able to help
with family expenses.
“We
express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of our journey
and that has made us experience God’s love through a smile, encouraging
words, support, and especially through prayers.
Please remember that you are always welcome to come visit us.
Our students, teachers, and I will be happy to give you a tour of our
school.”

"Every
Dollar Given to Missions
Goes to Missions"
Churches
and Individuals Can Give to Missions in the Following Categories:
Undesignated – Gifts which are not
designated for a specific mission or purpose are sent to adopted
projects where there is the greatest need.
This category
is recommended to donors as a means for assuring that the Missionary
Society will be able to honor all commitments and balance
contributions among the projects as needed.
Designated
– Gifts which are designated for a
specific project or purpose will be so honored.
Gifts given
for missions outside the Missionary Society’s list of adopted
projects will be forwarded to the designated agency and credit will
be given in the yearbook. (If the agency cannot be located, or
if the gift is not in the best interests of the NACCC, the gift will
be returned to the donor.)
Missions
Administration – The Missions Endowment
Administration Fund produces income which is used for the
administration of the NACCC Missions Program.
It is
recommended that every church put the Missions Administration
Endowment Fund in its annual budget in order to insure that
“Every dollar given to missions goes to missions.”
A variety of
Missionary Society promotional and informational resources are
available for NACCC sponsored mission projects in North/Central
America as well as International Projects, mission programs for
children, and the MAC Program (Short-term Mission Volunteers).
