When Donald H. Juel joined the Princeton Seminary faculty in 1995 as the
Richard J. Dearborn Professor of New Testament Theology, he brought a
commitment to awakening in his students an appreciation for and a love of
the Bible. A New Testament scholar, Dr. Juel has worked hard not to confine
his study to one area or to one New Testament author. He believes
that his most significant contribution to the field of New Testament studies
is found in four of his books: Messiah and Temple, Messianic
Exegesis, Mark (a commentary), and A Master of Surprise.
He explains that, read together, “the books form a coherent argument about
the heart of the Christian tradition, employing an array of historical and
literary methods, in such fashion as to make for more lively and productive
Bible reading in the present.” |
