Rev. Dr. Harry R. Butman

Rev. Dr. Harry R. Butman is a New Englander whose ancestral roots are deep in the Puritan earth.  One of his forebears was pastor of the Second Church in Newbury, MA, in the 17th Century and another was Hollis Professor of Divinity at Harvard in post-Revolutionary times.

The Rev. Dr. Harry Butman was one of the founders of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.  For seventy-one years he has served as a Congregational pastor, first in Maine and Massachusetts, later in southern California where he now lives.  He is a past Moderator of the National Association, former Editor of The Congregationalist magazine, a co-founder of the International Congregational Fellowship, and author of numerous books, essays, and articles.
