Rev. Dr. Harry R. Butman

Rev. Dr. Harry R. Butman is a New Englander whose ancestral roots are deep in the Puritan earth.  One of his forebears was pastor of the Second Church in Newbury, MA, in the 17^th Century and another was Hollis Professor of Divinity at Harvard in post-Revolutionary times.

The Rev. Dr. Harry Butman was one of the founders of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.  For seventy-one years he has served as a Congregational pastor, first in Maine and Massachusetts, later in southern California where he now lives.  He is a past Moderator of the National Association, former Editor of The Congregationalist magazine, a co-founder of the International Congregational Fellowship, and author of numerous books, essays, and articles.
