Dr. Eric Mount, Jr. is a Rhodes Professor of Religion at Centre College, Danville, Kentucky.  Dr. Mount received his Ph.D. in 1966 from Duke University, his S.T.M. (Master of Sacred Theology) in 1961 from Yale Divinity School, his B.D., with honors, in 1960 from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, and his B.A. in 1957 from Rhodes College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  He was ordained as Presbyterian Minister in Crossett, Arkansas, in 1961.  He is the author of many books and articles including the celebrated Covenant, Community, and the Common Good (1999), Professional Ethics in Context: Institutions, Images, and Empathy (1990), The Feminine Factor (1973), and Conscience and Responsibility (1969).  In addition to his academic responsibilities at Centre College, where he has taught since 1966, Dr. Mount is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Christian Ethics, and has been a visiting scholar and lecturer at Vanderbilt University, Union Theological Seminary, The Center of Theological Inquiry, The Center for Ethics and Social Policy, and was Theologian in Residence at the American Church in Paris.
