The planning meeting began late Wednesday evening, October 2nd. We all met up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which is about 20 minutes away from Lynn’s home and church in Gurnee, Illinois. The church was where we spent most of our days. It worked out great. Although we were rather tired that night because of our journeys there, the fun had just begun.

We started working that night and, throughout the rest of the week and weekend, we accomplished a great deal. It amazed me how much work we were able to get done in the amount of time we had together. We had so much to cover and not a lot of time to do it. We did everything from reading last year’s evaluations to deciding a theme with ideas to go along with it. With all of our work, we had a lot of fun too. We took many breaks to play, but most of our breaks were for food. (You have to remember who I am working with!) These breaks were also used to pick on me. It was everything from attacking me when I had the football, to shoving an oatmeal cream pie in my face. I couldn’t really defend myself because it was always 3-1, but I had fun trying.

It was definitely sad when the time came to leave. Then again, I was ready for some much-needed sleep. Between working all day long and those late-night movies, I personally was exhausted.
I could probably go on and on with stories and other things we did because the meeting really was great. However, I think now I must start focusing on how great NAPF 2003 is going to be. I am really excited about what we have in store. I hope everyone is as excited about it as I am and I can’t wait to see everyone there! Until then, continue on your journey with Christ.
God bless.

EQUIPPED FOR REALITY - NAPF - WILLIAMSBURG, VA

High School students live in a “Real” world and face real issues regarding school, friends, family, technology, media and entertainment, drugs and alcohol, dating and peer pressure, self-image and self-esteem, death, divorce, and other world concerns.

Fortunately there are tools which can help equip us all to face these realities. These tools and their use will be the focus of NAPF this year: Prayer, the Bible, Fellowship, Worship, Discipleship, Sacrifice, Love, Joy, Forgiveness and the Holy Spirit.
