A mile long parade of young people winds through the streets of Nagarcoil to the church outside the city's limits for the Annual Sunday School Rally.

The walk went on for more than three hours before reaching the church.  Many carried signs and banners exclaiming their faith in Christ.

Most in the parade walked, but a few hitched a ride.

The church was festively decorated as the first walkers arrived.

Several hundred students from about forty-five churches gathered at the Nagarcoil church.

Young and old were eager to eat lunch after the long walk, but everyone waited - in as polite a way as possible - until all were served.

The students packed themselves around the stage for the beginning of the program and the awards.

Some had a better view than others.

Participants readied themselves for the big moment...

as angles Kings and shepherds gathered stage left.

Kamazh Solomon watches to see if all the rehearsals will come to fruition.

After the rally, only a few remain for clean-up

A new church is built in Kristucoil.

Everyone removes their shoes before entering for worship.

The Palliyadi Church is the largest of the Travencore Church Council, yet us continues to worship in a bamboo structure because their church is remains in the hands of India's Uniting Church.

The school recently opened a computer room...

as will as a new biology lab.

The Travancore Church Council also teaches the art of embroidery.

The Congregational Christian Hospital serves those who cannot afford medical treatment.  There are fourteen beds and a small staff.

The Collice Ward Nursing School, located inside the Hospital grounds, offers basic nurses training to more then sixty students each semester.
