PASTORAL SEARCH PROCESS
Pastoral Search Services
The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) exists to offer services to member churches. One service helps introduce churches that have pastoral vacancies to clergy who wish to be considered for open positions. Clergy who currently serve or hold membership in NACCC member churches are eligible to use the NACCC pastoral search resources. Clergy fill out a Minister’s Information Form (MIF) to submit to churches in which they have an interest as a candidate.
Open Church Listings
Churches post openings with the NACCC through their Church Information Form (CIF) A summary listing of the openings may be found on the Ministerial Opportunities list posted here and in The Congregationalist Magazine. A full listing may be viewed only by clergy who have been granted access to the NACCC Pastoral Search resources.
Disclosure Files
Access to the NACCC pastoral search resources is granted only after an individual has established a Disclosure File in accordance with the NACCC Disclosure Protocol and Policy. Please read this policy carefully for it clearly outlines the documents you must provide. If you are a clergy person who is not affiliated with an NACCC member church you must submit an Administrative Fee of $100 made payable to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches along with your Minister Disclosure File documents.
The Minister Disclosure File is not a "personnel file" nor is it confidential. However, the files are not open to general inspection. They are released to a church search committee who has a significant interest in you as a candidate for their pulpit and upon their request. Churches are advised to only consider candidates who have established a Disclosure File and filled out the official NACCC Minister’s Information Form.
Remember: We are always ready to be of assistance. Please do not hesitate to call us with your questions or concerns. Your contact person for the search process is Laura Wright at 800-262-1620 ext. 1614 or email.
