Immerse Yourself in Congregational History and Polity

The Boston Seminar in Congregational History and Polity offers participants an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Congregational Way, explore the history and traditions of Congregationalism, and connect with others who share a commitment to Congregational Christian life.

The seminar is designed especially for students in the NACCC Lay Ministry Training Program, Congregational Foundation for Theological Studies fellows, and ministers who are new to the NACCC. Through a small-group learning experience, participants explore the history, principles, and practices that have shaped the Congregational tradition and continue to guide our churches today.

Exploring Our Congregational Heritage

Held in Boston, typically in mid-summer, the seminar brings Congregational history to life through educational experiences and visits with knowledgeable historians and institutions. Participants learn from the Congregational Library & Archives, Plimouth Patuxet Museums, and other contributors who help illuminate the people, events, and ideas that have shaped our tradition.

Beyond the educational sessions, the seminar offers valuable opportunities to build relationships with fellow Congregationalists, exchange perspectives, and develop a deeper appreciation for the heritage we share.
