As a leader of a congregation that is at least 100 years old, have you looked around and asked yourself, “Who are we now?” Have you struggled to understand how you’ve arrived at this unfamiliar place? Are you weighing changes you don’t feel ready to make? Are you afraid of losing the history that brought you this far, but lack a clear process for discerning the next steps for the future? If so, you are not alone. Many of us are likely in a very similar place.

Shaun Wissmann, a Congregationalist pastor and doctoral student in the research phase of his work, has also been asking an important question: What if there’s a way to help congregations over a hundred years old discern their phase in the church’s lifecycle, cultivate a sense of urgency, and find a path forward into an imaginative, potential future? What if Congregationalists could help other Congregationalists face the uncertainty of the future through the beauty of our history while living fully in the present?

In this hour-long webinar, Shaun will introduce you to an opportunity to participate in a pilot workshop designed for leaders of congregations over 100 years old. He will share a bit about who he is and the focus of his doctoral work, outline the requirements for workshop participation, and answer any questions you may have about the workshop and his research.

To make attendance accessible to people with varying schedules, Shaun is offering two information session opportunities – Thursday, January 29th at 3:00 pm CT (1:00 pm PT; 4:00 pm ET) and Saturday, January 31st at 10:00 am CT (8:00 am PT; 11:00 am ET).
