NACCC mission partner Seafarer’s Friend is currently seeking donations of knitted hats, scarves, and balaclavas to protect seafarers from cold winds. If you’re a knitter, they would cherish your donation of handmade items that help to remind seafarers that they are cared for, even while far from home.
In addition to knit hats, scarves, and balaclavas, Seafarer’s Friend is also accepting donations of toiletries, new or gently used men’s clothing, and other items like pocket bibles, playing cards, crossword books, and non-perishable snacks, as well as financial donations, to help provide comfort and care to seafarers around the world.
Seafarers play a critical role in global trade, and yet their work is largely unseen. Seafarer’s Friend offers them respite, care, and spiritual support, helping them navigate both the physical and emotional challenges of life at sea, but they rely on their community of support to make that happen, and right now they need our assistance.
Financial donations to Seafarer’s Friend can be through the NACCC. Click here to learn how to donate online or via mail. Please be sure to indicate that your donation is to be dedicated to Seafarer’s Friend.
