Easter Motivation

Rev. Arthur Ritter, Moderator

On behalf of the leadership of the NACCC, I would like to wish all of you a blessed and happy Easter.  We celebrate the good news of Christ’s resurrection with renewed hope.  God has acted to conquer death and to remove those things that we perceive as limits in our life.  We are called to act boldly in the confidence of this new life and promise.

As I look forward to our Annual Meeting and Conference this summer, I believe that our theme and our gathering can be inspired by such Easter motivation.  Being the Body of Christ is indeed a “daring endeavor” but one in which we are encouraged by the hope of resurrection.  New things are coming to be and we are the ones who get to share those new things in our churches and our ministries.   Make your plans and reservations to be in Milwaukee this June or to attend virtually over Zoom!

Three Dynamic Speakers

Jodee Lord, Vice-Moderator, Chair, Board of Directors

A little introduction to three dynamic and passionate speakers that will share with us at the Annual Meeting and Conference in June:

The Rev. Justin Berkobien is a pastor, a writer of weekly devotional blogs, and works as a stage/screen performer. We will have the opportunity to hear him speak on two different topics, Brave Re-Imagination and Courageous Re-Formation.

The Rev. Meredith McNabb is the Associate Director of Education for Lake Institute on Faith and Giving. Rev. McNabb will be sharing a message on Engaging the Shifting Landscape of Religious Generosity.

The Rev. Debie Thomas is a writer, columnist, and editor. We will have the opportunity to hear Rev. Thomas speak on Lament and Hope: Two Daring Practice for the 21st Century Church and A More Capacious Salvation: Daring to Embody Good News for All.

Additionally, Rev. Berkobien and Rev. Thomas will each host a Sharing Endeavor at the AMC. Complete details and registration for the AMC on our website.

Preserving our Legacy of Local Church Support

Bob Smith, Vice-President, Congregational Foundation Board of Governors

The primary purpose of both the National Association (NACCC) and the Congregational Foundation (CF) is to support the local churches.  With the contributions from our member churches and generous individuals, we have been able to create a legacy of caring and support.  In these uncertain times when there appear to be

so many challenges and distractions for the local church, the resources of the NACCC and the Foundation are essential.  The NACCC and CF have kept expense growth to a minimum through the judicious use of outsourcing and self-funding of volunteers.  However, the need for services and expertise continues to grow.  Please advocate for your churches to participate financially at the “Fair Share” level ($13 per member) or higher if possible.  Thanks for your continued generosity and consideration for increases to that vital support.  With your donations, the NACCC and the Congregational Foundation will be “Good to Grow!”

Listening Tour Update

February found our executive director in the Inland Northwest getting acquainted with churches who will host the 2024 Annual Meeting and Conference in Spokane, Washington. She then visited First Congregational Church of Anchorage, Alaska. The site of our 2010 annual meeting looks mighty different in March than it does in June.
